Clunies Redeemed!

 The newly improved version: this
time, following the pattern!

You compare:

Well, what do you think?  It's not Elisadusud, but it is a step forward, I think.  Deviating from the pattern at my stage of the learning curve? Not a good idea! I am not counting adding the BEADS, course.  I mean, there are only 6 of them, for goodness sake...

(Blue thread is called Snowflake and is either LadyShuttleMaker's or Yarnplayer's.  I am sorry, I lost the tag.  If someone can help me out, please leave a comment!)

Clunies are difficult to press.  This is my method of choice.  I do not think my criminal law professors would be at all amused...

  1. Oh, I wish you were closer to guide me with clunies...LOL
THAT is the way I 'press' my tatting too. Good thing I've been a readerof large books. :>)

  3. I am jealous that you can do clunies. But I must say I have not tried yet. They look hard to do. I am hoping to have Rita in Cambridge teach me this September at the tatting weekend. She is a needle and shuttle tatter and is doing an advance tatting class. I block all my tatting in water first then drain it and let them air dry overnight. But on the difficult one maybe I will try your way!!

  4. I think it looks really nice and the colors make me think of royalty subtly. :)

  6. I am watching this with interest...I have had a bash at clunies, but wasn't overwhelmed by my result. Elisadusud's blog and videos help but I am a bit of a scaredy cat.
I can do clunies in bobbin lace...but that is a bit easier. :)

  10. Wow...this is lovely. I've only been tatting a shortwhile and I believe this is only the second time I've come across Clunies. Looks like I have plenty more to learn!!

  11. Hi, Mimi!
    Thank you!
Check out Elisadusud's blog: 'Fils et dentelles,' which you can see on my blog list. She is the absolute best at clunies. I love looking at her work and learn a lot from her photos.
    Good luck and keep practicing!
