Soujourn

Several of you expressed concern at my blogging absence... I have been away on planes, trains and automobiles, having a welcome break from it all. All is just fine.

Thank you for your emails and kind words.

Not much tatting got done, but I did manage to complete
another round on the Honey Napkin and
am ready to begin Row #10:

This piece has been spoken for
by ...  my seven your old grandson!
So be it. : ))

  1. Isn't it a thrill when one of your grandchildren asks for a particular tatted piece?

  2. That is looking scrumptious. Just the right amount of red, like a smidge of chile powder to spark a recipe. Your grandson knows his fiber art.
I thought of you often, but figured you would return when you were ready, although I was starting to get anxious. Interesting scenery, can you tell us where it was?

    1. Ladytats, I was socked when Liam asked for the Honey Napkin! And delighted. So, I will finish it and send it along to him. His mom said she would ‘keep it safe!’

About 2 hours north of Manhattan. Pretty isn’t it?

  4. Your grandson, Liam has a good eye. Glad you're back and you had a well deserved break. The Honey Napkin is growing lovelier each day. Why is it called the Honey Napkin?

    1. I’m not sure why it is called that, but I do know that Renulek's doily is tatted in a golden coloured thread - maybe that’s why.

  5. I was hoping you were relaxing somewhere! So glad you had a chance to 'get away'! And you still managed to work on the doily! It's looking fabulous!

  7. So glad to see you're back. Miss Lily has been BAD lately - she escaped into the outdoors for an evening! She's safe and sound now though.

    1. Way to go, Lily! I’ll bet they give you lots of trats and pay special attention to you after that scare!
Hope you have lots of fun on your adventure.
      Your friend,

  8. Your grandson has excellent taste! That's a beautiful piece of tatting you've done. Glad that you've had a good time on your break. Give Mr. G a good scratch behind the ears for me. :)

  9. I always enlarge your photos and examine the stitches carefully, and they look impeccable to me. I know that one's own imperfections leap out at one when no-one else can see them however!
I'm so glad you had a good break. :)
