Snip! Again!

This is the same mistake that Grace noticed in the first two rounds!

I attached the wrong side of the motif to the centre... Why do I keep making the same error? So frustrating. And, this thread is murder... so soft.

Perhaps a firmer thread in order?

Progress on these two projects:

Notice the white bead in this final row?

Ancolie left a commenton tat-ology say that she would not complete the collar because it was too large.

I agree. - I find it too big, but I bought the thread specifically, and I have added all the three different bead; there is a lot of tatting there, so I will finish it. Maybe eventually it will find a home.

  1. I hate that mistake of the wrong side of the doily attaching thing. I think the collar looks great and I have plans for it, I was hoping it was bigger I made one a while back and put it on a black sweater wear it all the time I was hoping it would be wide.

    1. Ha - that means you've done it too! So irritating, isn't it? : ))

  2. Dear octopussy, I love all your work. The pink one is progressing nicely!

  3. Next time, tie a little piece of thread around a stitch on the right side of your work - then there will be no mix-ups! It might be soft thread but I do like the colour - keep going.

  4. Good idea, Maureen. I'll do that. I used to use that trick when knitting and crocheting.

I like the colour too. I needed a break from more colourful threads.

  5. Maureen, thanks for the tip. If I do get this wrong, I may just continue on. I wonder if I will be able to tell right or wrong?

  6. Anything blue practically has me swooning! Love that color! Looks so clean and fresh to me! All these projects are lovely, but I also really love the collar and the beads add such a nice detail!

    1. Thanks, but not blue! The thread is cream and the light was bad... : ))

  7. Oh gosh, and here was I thinking what a lovely blue! I once made a collar from the Julia Sanders book and then had to search around for a dress pattern with a neckline of the right length. I suspect it's more sensible to tat a collar to fit a neckline rather than the other way round. It's possible though, and your collar is looking spectacular.

  8. You're not alone. I've attached things to the wrong side countless times. Collar is looking great, and so are the other two projects. Hang onto the collar - you may find something to wear that has the perfect neckline for it.

  9. All your projects look good - too bad about attaching the outside to the wrong side of the inside. The collar is beautiful and those beads add a nice touch.
