Maeve is at first glance a complicated tangle of work! Yet, as I look again, I see it is not that hard. What type of thread did you use? Wonderful design!
I think it is an HDT ( maybe Kerry Solomon's #30), but I forget!Fox : )
Oh, these look like I need to spend some time tatting! I love the button center idea for Athalia.
Thanks, N. Maria! Hope you like tatting these!Fox : )
Stumbled upon you on Pinterest. My Grandmother tried to teach me tatting 10+ years ago, and as I approach my 65th b'day, I've decided to teach myself, out of honor to her. I love your work and I'm very inspired again. Thank you for sharing. Blesses be. Sandi
Thanks, Bookmonger! You are so lucky to have re-discovered this fine old art form!Just imagine the birthday presents you can give to yourself - thread, shuttles, books! Endless possibilities! And the best gift of all is the tribute to your Grandmother!Happy, Happy 65 and Happy Tatting!Fox : )

Hi, Cheryl,Glad you like them! They are not really difficult ones for beginners, but should you have a problem don't hesitate to email me.Welcome to Tat-Land and Happy Tatting!Fox : )
Thank you so very much Fox.
Hello,I am learning how to tat and so far, I'm liking it. Is there an easy book out there that is good for a beginner? And your items are very beautiful! Carol :)
Hi, Carol,There are so many!I suggest you join InTatters:www.intatters.comThen poke around the site and you will find tone and tons of info, help and ideas about what books you would like to read. I started there and would never have learned tatting without the help from the women there. it is a marvellous resource for a committed tatter!Good luck!Fox : )
Hi Fox,Where do you source your findings from?
Couldn’t really tell you - lots were given to me and I get some from a little bead store in my city. i don’t have a large supply at all. There are online stores as well, but I have not used them for findings.Fox
HelloThank you for your beautiful patterns and the added instructions which will be most helpful.Linda
Hi Linda,You are welcome! Enjoy!Fox : )
Hi Fox. I just inherited my grandmother's metal "Boye" shuttle with a bobbin in it. I would love to learn how to tat but don't know where to start. Is this a good shuttle to use? Also what kind of thread do I use? The nearest cities to me are all an hour's drive away-Waterloo and London. Any store recommendations?Shelley
Hi Shelly,That is how I learned - from nothing! No store carries what you really beed. All my stuff was bought online - except for some Cebelia which you can find at Maty Maxim if there is a store near you. There is one in Toronto and it is online as well. You can learn on that shuttle, but a plastic Aero is better , also with a bobbin. A lot of people like the Clovers to learn on but I prefer bobbins. If you read through my posts you will learn about thread, shuttles and lots of stuff - that is how I learned - reading everything! There are lots of YouTube videos as well. Also InTatters - see button on tat-ology for the link. You have to read, search and really want to practice... it is a wonderful addiction, if you find you like it.Get some Cebelia thread and a learn to tat book or watch a video on You tube. Karen Cabera: http://entrelanzaderas.blogspot.ca/2010/10/clases-de-frivolite-tatting-lessons.html She has a whole lot of videos there.Good luck!Fox : )
You are beyond generous to share these gorgeous patterns!!! Thank you so much!!! I am in love with Athalia and am going to have to give it a try. I only do needle tatting, but I'm hoping there is a way I will get through it. I just recently started to feel like I 'get it' and am building up my confidence to step out a little more. Thank you, again!!! be blessed~Shelley
